Artcore's mission is to work locally, nationally and internationally to create opportunities for individuals and communities to participate in the arts, based on the belief that arts activity can change lives.
We recognise and value the importance of local communities and their participation in public commissions. We undertake a range of initiatives to involve and consult local people by running workshops in schools and communities, inviting them to participate in the planning, designing and execution stages of community projects.
Artwork created to commission is Artwork which is linked to it's environment and Art which recognises it's community. Most of the projects organized by Artcore are participatory in nature. They are usually managed with the help of volunteers and local residents. We have worked with local communities and groups with physical and mental disabilities, schools and residential homes for the elderly. We have also worked with organisations that help the homeless and youth services involved in rehabilitation efforts.

Friendship - Sand casting Mural
On Friday 13th November, Artcore and Arts for all organised a Friendship event at Revive. The event was a great success, people from different communities worked together on the Friendship theme to create sand casting art works. There were adults with learning difficulties, with special needs and families including children who participated in this event.
This workshop was designed to bring people together and for individuals to explore their own source of knowledge, thoughts and feelings using arts. The main emphasis was on the process rather than only the outcome. Friendship theme was portrayed right from people coming together and working together and these works will be put up as one big mural on the walls of Revive.
